Hi I’m Leyla—

Health nut and animal lover extraordinaire. You’ll likely see my two shepherds sitting patiently in the corner of the portrait studio. I am recently married to that hunk in the photos you see. My husband, Chris, deserves a lot of credit because he has played a huge role in making my craft what it is today.

I have had a camera in my hands since my sixth birthday. My parents bought me a disposable camera that I carried around with me everywhere. Photography got its real start for me in high school. I saved up my babysitting money and bought a Nikon D3100 DSLR camera kit from Costco. I began by using myself and my friends as a subjects to learn lighting and editing techniques.

Fourteen years later, I have fallen deeply in love with this art. It has become a part of me. I am obsessed with the human connection gained through this lens and all the little details that come along with it. These machines have given me countless once-in-a-lifetime experiences and helped forge most of my deepest relationships today.

I firmly believe that there is no point in going to the grave with the knowledge I have accrued over the years. This is why I am currently working on breathing life into ROYA Creative, which is an umbrella media company that sources gigs for student photographers, provides social media content creation via iPhones for weddings and other large events, and, of course includes my individual photography company.
